look younger without surgery
under-eye circles
How under-eye circles age
When the volumes of the young face gradually disappear, the bone structure of the eye socket becomes visible. The under-eye areas seem to separate from the rest of the face, producing what is sometimes called the "skeletal" look. Under-eye circles make the face look old and tired.
Dr. Hayot's technique
Aesthetic eye surgery has rapidly evolved in recent years. Surgeons don't use aggressive procedures to remove under-eye fat bags anymore because they want to minimize the appearance of under-eye circles. It has become common to fill-in the circles at the same time that the pouches of fat are removed. When the pouches are small, it is often preferable to fill-in the circle in order to hide the pouch.
The under-eye circle is anesthetized with a numbing cream prior to the procedure.
A very fine needle (32 gauge) is used to inject hyaluronic acid into the circle. The fine needle permits precise control of the amount of hyaluronic acid injected into the circle so that over-correction is easily avoided.
