In what order do wrinkles appear?
In our thirties, the first wrinkles become visible—fine lines around the eyes and in the forehead, and worry lines between the brows. These wrinkles, called "expression lines," are caused by repetitive muscular movements.
Next, in our forties, other problems appear—grooves running from the base of the nose to the mouth and lines around the upper lip. These wrinkles are linked to the loss of subcutaneous fat as well as loss of elasticity in the skin. Smoking and sun exposure exacerbate the problem.
